Material & Process
Handwoven in Vienna with sustainable ropes and classic weaving techniques, celebrating timeless craftsmanship and longevity.
PROCESS
The practice focuses on chairs, which are complemented by the restoration and reworking of other furniture, such as benches, paravents and side tables. The technique is consistent: any framed structure can be transformed into a vibrant, unique piece through colourful cord weaving. Both vintage and contemporary furniture are treated with equal care and attention. Sustainability plays a central role: alongside made-to-order pieces, restoration services breathe new life into existing furniture, ensuring it has a lasting presence.
MATERIAL
Flexible, thinly braided polypropylene ropes are used — resistant, stable, and eco-sustainable, produced in Italy and the Netherlands. All ropes carry the OEKO-TEX® label, certifying they are non-toxic and harmless to both human and animal health.
FILO
The contemporary chair frames are manufactured in a family-run business in Northern Italy. This allows to maintain full control over every stage of the process — from raw materials to the finished product. For CORDA, “Made in Italy” is not just a label, but a mindset rooted in craftsmanship, quality and also a promise to keep transport routes short.
